The work

This spectacular collection of images seen from on high forms a visual pathway helping us to discover and appreciate the many treasures left by mining activity on the island´s territory. The mining world has always been a source of strong feelings and fascination, created by the activity of men intent on carefully exploring with toil and sacrifice the depths of mother earth, to discover the secrets hidden therein by the various geological eras. Through their hard work and skills they gave rise far a century and a half (1848-1998) to the extraordinary saga of a mining industry that, thanks to its significant production and for the first time in its history, brought Sardinia fully within Europe.
